Yes, if the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issues flash flood warning for the area or if outside temperature reaches 105 Degrees Fahrenheit, tours will be canceled hence no children policy on some of tours.


1. Due to Mystical Antelope Canyon possibly being a strenuous nature of the tour for some, please get advice from your physician before trying to hike the canyon.

2. Pregnant women are HIGHLY discouraged due to the strenuous nature of the tour.

3. Strollers or wheel-based devices can NOT make the tour ride and trail.

4. Prohibited to people with limited movement capabilities.


No. One of Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation's mission is to preserve the spectacular landscapes, therefore a tribal permit is required. All areas of the Antelope Canyon are only accessible via guided tour, which are mandatory.

Rates include transportation cost (to and back from campground) and tour guide's pay who will impart cultural knowledge making your visit an educational experience. Tribal Permit fee of $8.00 and 6% Navajo Nation tax fee will be added to rates. Rates do not include tips for your tour guide.

On shared tours, the maximum is 20 guests per tour.

To protect and preserve the canyon NO pet’s, animal’s and service dogs will not be allowed in the canyon.

Full payment of the registration fee for camping, lodging, and guided tours must be made at the time of check-in. Cancellation policy will apply if you reserved Hogan or Tipi lodging through airbnb.com.

Dry Camping Site: A full refund will be issued if the cancellation notice is received 72 hours before 3:00 pm the day of check in. No refund if cancelled within 72 hours.

Tipi/Hogan Reservation: A full refund will be issued if cancellation is made at least 14 days prior to check in time on the day of check in. A 50% refund will be issued if cancellation is made 7 days prior to check in time on the day of check in. No refunds will be issued for cancellation made within 7 days of check in.

Mystical Antelope Canyon Tours: Full refund will be issued if cancellation is made 72 hours prior to the tour departure time. No refund if cancelled within 72 hours.

For now, we will take balance payments onsite at check-in. If at all possible, we ask for balance in cash to avoid bank fees, however if you prefer to pay the balance with a credit card, yes, you can pay balance with your credit card (transaction fee applies) at check-in. With an elevation of about 4000-5000 feet, our area is the Great Basin desert on the Colorado Plateau. We typically have warm sunny days, but nights are usually cooler. Due to this weather condition, you should bring:

  • comfortable closed walking shoes
  • layered clothing
  • biodegradable sunblock
  • biodegradable mosquito repellent (if you are sensitive)
  • hat or a cap
  • sunglasses
  • Backpack

If you decide to do Lake Powell (21 miles away):

  • Swimming suit
  • towels
  • water socks or sandals.

Navajo Nation Protocols you need to know:
The Navajo Nation prohibits alcoholic beverages, fireworks, and firearms of all kinds.

Many of Navajo Tribal members have traditional beliefs where cremation is NOT practiced and considered a taboo. For this reason Navajo Tribal Parks & Recreation and owners of Mystical Antelope Canyon Tours PROHIBIT dumping human ashes in Antelope Canyon.

Please help to keep the campground looking beautiful by picking up your site and while you’re on a tour. Trash cans are located throughout the campground for your convenience. We also encourage recycling.

Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone; assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries or loss from any cause; and reserves the right to evict any person(s) without refund for failure to abide by any of the campground rules or policies.

Per Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation, permit & fee are required for tours all areas of the Antelope Canyon, which are only accessible via guided tour. Tour guides are mandatory.

All tours are subject to availability and weather conditions. Departure times may vary with the season.

Due to dry environment, fire danger rate is very high; please dispose of your cigarette butts properly in your ash tray or trash. Do not throw on the ground!

Arrowhead Campground Guidelines:

Quiet Hours are Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Please, no loud music or group activities after 10 p.m.

We welcome pets: Keep dogs on leash 6 ft long or shorter at all times. Do not leave dogs unattended. As a courtesy to fellow guests, please pick up after your dog(s).

Arrowhead Campground is located within an open grazing area; cows, sheep, horses may be seen in the area.

Critter alert: Observe and be alert in your surrounding - watch out for antelope squirrel and other nature critters.

Mystical Antelope Canyon Tour Guidelines: 

We need to complete formalities of check-in process in a timely manner, so we don't cut into other scheduled tours. Please arrive 30 minutes early.

In order to preserve Antelope Canyon landscape to it's natural form and prevent canyon wall damage, the following are NOT allowed:

  • Selfie sticks
  • Tripods
  • Bags
